About The HOPWA Program
The HOPWA Program was established by HUD to address the specific needs of persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families. HOPWA gives grants to local communities, states, and nonprofit organizations for projects that benefit low income persons medically diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and their families.
HOPWA And West Alabama AIDS Outreach
In our 10 county service area, HOPWA is used to assist clients and their families who qualify for this program either on a short-term or long-term basis. In addition, our case managers and outreach specialist strive to make HOPWA available to clients who are at risk of becoming homeless or who are struggling to pay their rent.
