What are your options for testing?

OraQuick ADVANCE® provides rapid HIV test results in as little as 20 minutes, with no needle sticks. The OraQuick ADVANCE® is used to see if your oral fluids contains HIV antibodies. A trained collector helps you place the collection pad between your cheek and properly swab. OraQuick ADVANCE® is designed to draw out HIV-1 antibodies, not the virus, from the tissues of the cheek and gum. OraQuick ADVANCE® HIV-1 does not collect saliva but rather a sample called oral mucosal transudate (OMT).The OraSure® pad is then placed into the accompanying vile. The trained tester will read the results in as little as 20 minutes. The OraQuick ADVANCE test is very accurate, however, an additional testing is needed to confirm a preliminary positive.

OraSure OraSure® HIV-1 Oral Collection Device requires no blood or needles and has been shown to be more than 99% accurate. A trained collector will instruct you to place the OraSure® HIV-1 Collection Pad between your lower cheek and gum for 2 to 5 minutes. OraSure® is designed to draw out HIV-1 antibodies, not the virus, from the tissues of the cheek and gum. OraSure® HIV-1 does not collect saliva but rather a sample called oral mucosal transudate (OMT). The OraSure® HIV-1 pad is then placed in a vial with preservative and sent to a clinical laboratory for testing with an initial “screening”. Test results are usually back in 3-4 business days.
